Get to know your Kumu
Our Director/
Teacher
Aunty Sarah is about
to embark in her
sixth year teaching
at Nā Kamali’i Hoaloha Preschool. She is in her third year as Director and 5th year as Lead Teacher. She acquired her CDA (Childhood Development Associate) certification in 2021 and is continuing her early childhood education at Chaminade University. Sarah has prior experience in the field as she began her studies years ago when living in Texas. She has a true passion for the field and for teaching your keiki.

Sanoe Nunuha is
starting her fifth full
year at Nā Kamaliʻi
Hoaloha. Sanoe has
been working on her Bachelor's of early childhood education for a few years and has also acquired her Childhood Develpment Associate teaching certification in 2021 and participated in a Early Childhood Leading for Change Cohort in 2025. Sanoe really enjoys the time she gets to spend teaching children.

Mary Grace Pugal is
embarking in her
fourth year at Nā Kamaliʻi Hoaloha. She has a Bachelors degree in early childhood education and has previous experience teaching first grade children when she lived in the Philippines. She enjoys spending time with your keiki. Aunty Grace received her Childhood Develpment Associate Certificationl in May 2024.

Rory Ignacio Umi
joined our team in
June 2025 and
comes with over
10 years working in
the education sector.
She is currently undergoing her Childhood Development Certification.







In May 2025, our preschool team, in partnership with PATCH Hawaii, held a professional development retreat for Early Childhood Educators at Pu'u O Hoku Ranch. 16 early childhood professionals across 6 different organizations came together as the Ke Kumu A'o Ho'okahi Hui to receive developmental training pertinent to the work that they do in the field.
